Yes!

I believe in a team approach to your horses care. If needed, I will happily liaise with your vet, farrier, saddle fitter or other professionals to make sure your horse gets the best support possible.

Do I have to stay for the session?

Accepted Answer

I advise that you are present for the initial consultation, or at least the first 10-15 minutes so that you understand the plan of action for the treatment and any issues that may be initially outlined.

After this, if the horse is settled, I do not mind if you crack on with other yard jobs or go for a cuppa in the yard room!

If you are running late or cannot make an appointment, I am happy for you to make alternative arrangements with a yard owner or friend so long as this is arranged/mentioned prior.

What if my horse is nervous around new people?

That's perfectly okay! We'll work within your horse's comfort zone. If they're okay with some parts of the session but not others, we'll adjust accordingly. Whether it means longer or shorter sessions or multiple visits, we'll create a plan that suits your horse's needs.

Can I book multiple horses for the same session?

Absolutely! You can book multiple horses for the same session. I can create a tailored plan for each horse and offer some discounts for multiple bookings.

What problems can equine massage help with?

Massage and other techniques can help horses that are: * Stiff, sore, or struggling with suppleness * Recovering from injury or changes in workload * Showing signs of discomfort during work It's a great addition to their overall well-being and performance maintenance.

Does my horse need time off after a massage?

Accepted Answer

I generally recommend giving your horse 24 hours off from ridden work after a session. Gentle turnout and in-hand walking are great. This allows their body to adjust and make the most of the treatment.

How do I pay?

You can pay via cash or BACS transfer.

Invoices can be sent out after the session with session records with the details on too.

Is massage safe for all horses?

Accepted Answer

From youngsters to veterans, massage is typically safe for all.

However, some medications prohibit the use of massage due to the increased blood flow and circulation, meaning the slow release drug may be pushed around the body.

If you are unsure, speak to your vet or contact me first. If you have listed medications that your horse is on upon booking, I will always obtain veterinary consent prior to the initial consultation too!

How long is a typical session?

A typical session lasts between 60 and 75 minutes, depending on what we find. Please allow up to 90 minutes for initial assessments.
