Meet Erin Dixon
Dedicated to the soundness, strength and performance of every horse.
I am Erin, Equine Soft Tissue specialist and founder of E Dixon Equine Performance.
With years of experience supporting horses across all disciplines, from dressage and eventing to racing and polo, I understand what it takes to keep an equine athlete at their peak.
Every horse I work with is treated as an individual. My focus isn't just on solving problems; it's on helping them move, feel and perform at their very best for the long term.
I combine evidence based techniques in soft tissue therapy with a deep understanding of equine biomechanics and behaviour. This allows me to identify subtle patterns before they become problems, helping your horse move better, train harder and recover faster.
My approach is always;
- Holistic: Looking at the whole horse, not just the area of tension.
- Collaborative: Working with your vet, farrier, trainer and team to achieve shared goals.
- Performance-led: Because every small improvement in movement translates to results in the arena, on the track or out in the field.

I believe that longevity in performance isn't luck, it is built through consistency, balance and proactive care. My goal is to support the partnership between horse and rider, so you can enjoy more time training, competing and achieving together.

What are the benefits of soft tissue therapy?
Peak performance relies on more than training alone, it depends on balanced, healthy and responsive soft tissues. Targeted soft tissue therapy helps horses perform at their best by optimising movement, reducing the risk of injury and supporting faster recovery between sessions or competitions.

Massage Therapy

Massage increases blood flow, supports efficient oxygen and nutrient delivery to the muscles and aids in the removal of metabolic waste. It helps relieve tightness from intense training, improves stride length and symmetry, and promotes quicker recovery after exercise. Regular massage assists in maintaining muscle elasticity and detecting areas of tension before they develop into performance-limiting issues.

Stretching

Dynamic and passive stretching techniques improve flexibility, joint range of motion
and neuromuscular coordination. For performance horses, consistent stretching helps maintain balance, enhance athletic movement and reduce compensatory patterns that can lead to uneven wear or strain.

Myofascial Release

Fascial restrictions can limit freedom of movement, alter biomechanics, and contribute to muscle imbalance. Myofascial release restores gait between muscle layers, allowing for smoother, more efficient motion. This technique is partially effective for horses showing stiffness through their shoulders, back or hindquarters and can help optimise stride quality and suppleness.

Lymphatic Drainage

During training and competition, efficient recovery is essential. Lymphatic drainage supports this process by reducing post-exercise swelling, promoting the removal of toxins and metabolic byproducts and enhancing immune response. It is especially useful following strenuous work, injury or travel, helping horses return to peak condition quicker.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low Level Laser Therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to accelerate cellular repair, reduce inflammation and relieve pain. It is highly effective for localised muscle or tendon issues, joint discomfort and post competition recovery. When integrated with manual techniques, LLLT supports faster tissue regeneration and sustained performance.

Performance, Recover, Longevity

Soft tissue therapy isn't just for rehabilitation, it is a proactive part of maintaining soundness and maximising athletic potential. Whether preparing for competition, managing an ongoing training schedule or supporting recovery after performance, these techniques help horses move efficiently, stay comfortable and maintain their edge season after season.
